CHIC EDITOR – WHERE ARE YOU FROM? WHAT ATTRACTED YOU TO LA?

AMY – I am originally from Mapleton, IL.  I was raised on a small corn farm.  I came to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the Entertainment industry.

WHY WAS THE BIG REASON YOU GOT INTO THE REAL ESTATE?

AMY -I was fortunate enough to have success in a few areas in the Entertainment industry and I always knew that Real Estate would be a great investment.  I started my portfolio and ended up with quite a few properties and loved every aspect of real estate, so I knew then that my final career would be working in that industry.

CHIC EDTIOR – WHO WAS YOUR FIRST MENTOR, AND HOW DID HE/SHE INFLUENCE YOU?

AMY –   My first mentor is my current broker Haroun at JohnHart, His passion equals that of mine and we have such similar work ethics.  He has taught me more about real estate than I ever thought possible and most importantly, he believes in me and is always there to bounce ideas off of.

CHIC EDITOR – WHAT WERE YOUR YEARLY SALES FOR 2015? FORECAST FOR 2016?

AMY- is really hard to pull one deal out of them all as I have memories from each and every one to this day.  We did have a deal recently that will for sure stay in my head and heart forever-  We recently sold a home in La Canada Flintridge that no other agent seemed to be able to get under contract.  The seller had gone through 5 to agents and no luck.  We lived and breathed that home and were able to get a great cash buyer in the end and a very happy, lifelong client.

CHIC EDITOR – IF MONEY WERE NO OBJECT, WHAT PROPERTY ON THE MARKET WOULD YOU RECOMMEND IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA?

AMY – A One of my favorite Estates on the market is the iconic Maison du Soleil by famed architect Paul Williams.  It is so grand and expensive but still feels like a home.

CHIC EDITOR – TELL US ONE THING MOST PEOPLE WOULDN’T KNOW ABOUT YOU.

AMY – Some people may not know the tI used to be a wrestler for WWE.

CHIC EDITOR – WHAT IS YOUR PROUDEST ACHIEVEMENT?

AMY- I am proud that I have accomplished as much as some agents do in 20 years in less than 5 years and that it  come because I truly found my calling in life.

CHIC EDITOR – WHERE WOULD WE FIND YOU WHEN YOU WANT TO RELAX?

AMY – I have no idea what that is! I guess my motto is “You can sleep when you are dead.”

CHIC EDITOR – IF YOU WERE TO JET SETTING THIS SUMMER.  WHERE WOULD YOU GO?

AMY – The Resort at Pedregal in Mexico.  It is an incredible resort but such a quick flight from LA.

CHIC EDITOR – WHAT ARE YOUR PERSONAL GOALS FOR 2016?

AMY – I want to continue building our brand that we have worked so hard to create.  I want to continue to debunk the thinking that real estate agents are just salespeople.  We put so much into the “why” when it comes to putting a home on the market and it is just as relevant in the first meeting as it is the day Escrow Closes.

CHIC EDITOR – IN YOUR OPINION WHAT MAKE LA SO SPECIAL?

AMY – Los Angeles just has so much to offer!  It is a place where the sky is the limit and only you can decide how much you want to achieve in life.  There is so much opportunity to work and grow and enjoy your life to the fullest.

CHIC EDITOR – WHERE ARE YOU FROM? WHAT ATTRACTED YOU TO LA?

MARLIN – I’m American, we moved to the slates from Iran when I was just 3 years old.  For my parents it was the thought of living in Los Angles and living in Souther California.  The growing diversity of people and cultures attracted my parents to move to LA.

CHIC EDITOR – WHY WAS THE BIG REASON YOU GOT INTO REAL ESTATE?

MARLIN – One of the reasons I got into Real Estate is to make a difference in people’s lives.  You’re ultimately helping people’s dreams come true.  Part of my passion comes from a sense of accomplishment.  One of the biggest compliments is seeing your clients get teary eyes when you hand them the keys to their new house.  It doesn’t get any better than that.

CHIC EDITOR-WHAT WERE YOUR YEARLY SALES FOR 2015? FORECAST FOR 2016?

MARLIN – 2015 was the best year for housing since 2007 for people all around.  Our sales were 40mm in 2015.  Although forecast showed a slowdown in 2016, we have been lucky enough to not have been effected.  This year we are project to do 50mm.  We set goals in the beginning of the year, this way we are focused, we have a purpose and we can create the life we want.

CHIC EDITOR – WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE DEAL?

MARLIN – My most memorable deal was for a client I met on the streets of La Canada one morning after an Open House.  She had been though a lot in the years leading up to us meeting.  I immediately knew this was going to more than just a real estate transaction.  We ended up selling her 2mm house in La Canada, she also bought a multi-unit building with us representing her.  She is a dear friend to me now.

CHIC EDITOR – IF MONEY WERE NO OBJECT, WHAT PROPERTY ON THE MARKET WOULD YOU RECOMMEND IN SOUTHER CALIFORNIA?

MARLIN – It was really would depend on who I’m recommending the property to Weather the buyers are single, married or if they have a family.  A lot goes into finding a property for your buyers.  It pays to do your homework and check all resources to make sure it fits your buyer’s needs.

CHIC EDITOR – TELL US ONE THING MOST PEOPLE WOULDN’T KNOW ABOUT YOU.

MARLIN – That I still get super nervous about appointments, sometimes to the point where I get numb at my feet and palms start sweating.  It’s definitely gotten much better since the beginning buy the butterflies are still there.  I’ve just mastered how to take deep breaths and clear my mind.

CHIC EDITOR – WHAT IS YOUR PROUDEST ACHIEVEMENT?

MARLIN – I have several notable accomplishments in my career buy my protest would be getting me RE License, not just because I passed the test and got my license buy because I became my own boss.  I get to run my own business and control my own destiny.  It’s so easy to succeed when you love what you do.

CHIC EDITOR – WHERE WOULD WE FIND YOU WHEN YOU WANT TO RELAX?

MARLIN – I like to unwind at the gym.  The physical exercise helps me feel happier and energetic after a long day.  This is the only time I allow my mind and body to enjoy some self-time and relax after a 12 hour chaotic day.

CHIC EDITOR – IF YOU WERE TO JET SETTING THIS SUMMER? WHERE WOULD YOU GO?

MARLIN -I would take a nice vacation to Maldives, a tropical paradise of beaches.  I would relax on the white sand beaches and enjoy the crystal clear waters.  It’s the perfect destination to enjoy a romantic getaway.

CHIC EDITOR – WHAT ARE YOUR PERSONAL GOALS FOR 2016?

MARLIN – One of my goals is to force myself out of my comfort zone, the most remarkable moments are the ones that make you feel uncomfortable.  Trying to put myself in situations that are outside of my comfort zone.  Work hard, play harder, you have to create your own work-life balance.  If you let work take over your life, it most definitely will.

CHIC EDITOR  – IN YOUR OPINION WHAT MAKES LA SO SPECIAL?

MARLIN – Los Angeles is truly a unique place, there is no other city like it in my opinion.  The weather, beaches, shopping, the nightlife are just a few to name.  There is no better place to build your career, further your education, or perhaps start a new company.  People from all over the world will come to LA to see their dream come true.
