06 Oct Ways to Cut Spending
Nowadays, it is easier than ever to see exactly where your money is going. With tracking systems, apps and coupons online, there is no excuse to not try to save some of your hard earned dollars.
Here are a few tricks to help put some of that money back into your savings.
1) Put the savings from items bought on sale back in your pocket. It always feels good when you get a deal or find something you want on sale. But, to actually see those savings in place, put that extra money that you saved into your savings account. Now that’s being a “Savvy Shopper.”
2) Don’t be shy- Ask for that discount. If you are a member of AAA or even AARP, it doesn’t hurt to see if there is a discount offered to you because of your membership. Hotels, restaurants and even some repair services will offer members discount and it doesn’t cost anything to ask.
3) Try to pay with cash. Folks who pay with cash instead of credit cards usually spend about 20% less on purchases. Why would that make such a huge difference? People can become complacent when using a credit card instead of having the awareness that comes from spending their hard-earned money.
